Board of Directors

Daniel Sonshine

Daniel Sonshine is currently a Partner at TorQuest Partners, a leading Canadian private equity firm.  In his capacity with TorQuest Partners, Mr. Sonshine serves as the Chairman of Spinrite, Can Art Aluminum Extrusion and Amenity Healthcare and also served as Chairman of Kissner Milling and on the respective boards of Associated Brands, Herbal Magic and GCAN Insurance.

Daniel was involved in the acquisition of DayMen Lowepro.  Prior to joining TorQuest Partners, Mr. Sonshine was a Director at CIBC Capital Partners, where he was involved in various private equity and subordinated debt transactions.  Mr. Sonshine sits on the Board of Trustees of Bishop Strachan School and coaches youth baseball.  Mr. Sonshine graduated as the Gold Medalist from the combined J.D. / M.B.A. program at the University of Toronto and received an A.B. (cum laude) in Economics from Harvard University.

Michael Salisbury

Michael Salisbury joined the Amenity Board of Directors in 2017. Michael is a Vice President of TorQuest. Prior to joining TorQuest, he worked in the Corporate Strategy and M&A department of BCE Inc. Earlier in his career, Michael worked in the investment banking division of TD Securities and the transfer pricing division of Deloitte.

Michael holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Queen's University and a Master of Financial Economics from the University of Toronto


Executive Management

Dalbir Bains - President & Chief Executive Officer

Dalbir Bains is President & Chief Executive Officer of Amenity Health and is responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction to the company and its subsidiaries.  The founder of Amenity Health, Dalbir’s passion and interest in health care started more than ten years ago when he saw the significant gap in health services in under-serviced communities in Manitoba. Since then he has been working on closing that gap by aligning the interests of health service provider, the patient and payors.

Dalbir is a senior executive with a proven track record of creating value for shareholders in his various business endeavours and expertise in a number of areas including entrepreneurial business leadership, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, project management, investor relations, and business development. Prior to founding Amenity Health, he held executive roles with companies with business interests in a number of industries, including digital media, print and broadcast media, healthcare, financial services and retail.

Dalbir is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Management Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba.

Keith McMahon - Chief Financial Officer

Keith McMahon is Chief Financial Officer of Amenity and is responsible for overall financial leadership including annual planning activities, financing and treasury, reporting, operational financial and accounting activities and risk management as well as supporting the Company’s growth initiatives.

Keith has over 25 years of senior executive financial and operational leadership experience in both publicly-traded and privately-held companies where he has expertise in a number of areas including strategic planning, organizational leadership, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, business development and performance management. Prior to joining Amenity, he has held a number of senior leadership positions guiding rapid growth companies including Chief Financial Officer of People Corporation, and roles of both Executive VP & Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Arctic Glacier.

Keith is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba.

Lonny Twarynski - VP Corporate Development

Lonny Twarynski is Vice President of Corporate Development for Amenity Health Care.  He is responsible for new business development through the acquisition process of independently owned pharmacies throughout Canada. With over 30 years of industry experience, Lonny has a proven record of developing organizations into market leaders.  Focusing on growth, he has held leadership roles in retail, wholesale and consumer packaged goods in both corporate and co-operative settings.

In his previous role as Director of Business Development for PharmaChoice Western, Lonny contributed in the recruitment of over 350 independent pharmacies joining the co-operative based pharmacy banner. With vast knowledge of the Canadian pharmaceutical and retail pharmacy industry, Lonny has spent a decade interfacing and building strong relationships with the many facets of the industry.

Lonny studied Business Administration at the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained a BAC.

Pola Demain - Vice President Pharmacy Operations

Pola oversees the Pharmacy Operations of Amenity which include retail, long term care and specialty operations. Pola also oversees procurement and marketing for Amenity's pharmacies. Pola has been with Amenity since 2014 having started as Pharmacy Manager in Kipling, Saskatchewan. Pola has previously spent time in a leadership role with the World Health Organization. Pola is currently a licensed clinical pharmacist in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and also has a MSc in Infectious diseases genomics.
